My mother went through five years of battling cancer. Radiation, several chemotherapy interventions, stem cell transplants, bone marrow transplant and now its back. Ive watched her go from a pilot who taught people to fly, EMT that worked with the Red Cross, volunteer Search and Rescue, and attempted Realtor...to unable to write, drive and sometimes walk. Shes got Multiple Myeloma and may not make it this time around. In my moment of depression and feeling defeated she threw twenty bottles of medication on the bed, her hair falling out, unable to eat or care for herself, and said, quotIts not what life throws at you its your attitude.quot and I have never been the same since.
